While many vapers often turn to SMOK when considering their next high-power setup, the Chinese-based company has recently shifted some of its focus to produce the ultra-portable and stealthy SMOK NOVO Open-Pod Kit. A far cry from most of SMOKs lineup of devices, the SMOK NOVO focuses primarily on being an incredibly compact and low-power device. This makes the NOVO perfect for experienced vapers looking for a backup device or for something that is easier to pocket carry. The design and simplicity of the NOVO also makes it ideal for new vapers who may not want to delve deep into the wide hobby of vaping.

In terms of design, the SMOK NOVO Open-Pod Kit takes on an incredibly minimalist approach. There is no fire button, no adjustment options, and no bright LEDs. Instead, the device features a sleek body, with distinct curvature lines that fit seamlessly with the body and make the device incredibly comfortable to hold. These curvatures continue onto the mouthpiece, which fits perfectly between the lips in an organic and natural way.

While the minimalist design of the NOVO may lead some to question its capabilities, SMOK has managed to make the device still technically impressive. Housed inside the compact body is a 450mAh internal cell which charges via micro USB on the chassis of the more. In the absence of a firing button, the SMOK NOVO is completely draw activated, which provides a low power draw and a fixed mouth to lung inhale. The device features a fixed wattage of 10-16W and is always on, but will only activate when a user inhales through the mouthpiece.

Speaking of the mouthpiece, the SMOK NOVO utilizes an open-pod design, meaning users will have the ability to change the e-liquid they are using and discard the pod once the coil inside dies. The coil within the pod comes in at 1.2ohms, making it perfect for a mouth-to-lung style of vape which more closely resembles the experience of drawing off a cigarette. The cotton used to wick the e-juice is integrated into the pod and is a special type of cotton that provides optimal flavor and vapor production. The pod itself also contains a silicone plug, which covers the hole meant for refilling, to ensure a spare pod can be loaded and carried around without risk of leaking.
